Subject: Water Politics

Today in class we talked about politics and IWRM. Take a look at the introductory paragraph on politics in Wikipedia for a general description and definition - and read on if you would like to learn more.

The World Water Council that organizes the World Water Forum every three years, has a program on Water and Politics. Take a quick read of the questions that they are addressing in this program - you will see that they elaborate them in ways similar to our discussion in class.

The World Water Council is a major multistakeholder organization operating at the global level. Take a look at its home page to learn about its activities, which include publishing the journal Water Policy. The last World Water Forum was held in Mexico in 2006 and the next one will be in Istanbul in 2009.
